Research

My research focuses on understanding the take-up of welfare programs, particularly among disadvantaged and vulnerable groups. I examine both preventive (early) interventions, which aim to support households and prevent social problems, and remedial or restorative programs that help households address existing difficulties. In this work, I have studied municipal debt counseling as a preventive intervention and debt relief as a remedial measure.

I also have an interest in overindebtedness, foreclosures, and perceptions of fairness and trust.

My work is interdisciplinary, and I collaborate with researchers in areas such as economics and social work.

Teaching and tutoring
