Bakgrund
I have a background in tourism studies combined with more than a decade of professional experience within the tourism industry. My practical experience includes working as an inbound tour consultant and tour operator, digital marketing and electronic word-of-mouth (eWOM) strategies, search engine optimization (SEO) in tourism contexts, and the establishment of ecolodge initiatives in peripheral areas in my home country.
Since relocating to Östersund, Sweden, I have further developed my professional and academic experience through work at Jämtland Härjedalen Turism (JHT), Östersund Municipality (Familjelotsen), and through teaching within Human Geography and Tourism Studies at the university level. My doctoral journey at Mittuniversitetet has further strengthened my research interests and academic competencies through conferences, seminars, interdisciplinary collaborations, and international academic engagement.
I value strong engagement between academia and society and am particularly interested in knowledge exchange with non-academic stakeholders. I also aim to contribute to practice-oriented tourism development through my role as a board member of STF (Svenska Turistföreningen), as well as through the dissemination and application of research-based knowledge to society.
Forskningsområden
My research interests focus on social sustainability and inclusive tourism development, particularly in post-immigration contexts and processes of integration among new residents. I am especially interested in outdoor recreation, questions of otherness in tourism, EU-funded tourism development initiatives, and the projectification of tourism practices and destinations.
